Behaviour Consultations

Is your dog barking at other dogs or people? Does your dog struggle with anxiety? Has your dog shown aggression towards you or anyone in your family? Or anything else about their behaviour that concerns you?

Our behaviour consultations will look at why your dog exhibits these behaviours and will help us work with you to work towards a solution.

Completing specialist training with guidance from our Head Behaviourist to help get your relationship back on track

Together we can keep dogs out of rescues and in loving homes, with a science and reward based approach to training

What's included in behaviour consultations?

  1. An initial package includes a discovery phone call, access to helpful videos and one 60 minute diagnostic session to work out the underlying reasons for your dog's behaviour as well as any contributing factors. This initial session will allow our Head Behaviourist to assess your dog's behaviour and discuss an immediate action plan for you to begin implementing straight away.

  2. Subsequent sessions then will focus on helping you and your dog learn new skills and work together to combat the issues you are having, working a step by step process.

  3. Access to support from the Head Behaviourist via email/Whatsapp in between sessions

  4. Free membership to our exclusive Facebook community group for ongoing advice and support

To begin with, you are only booking the discovery call. Typical availability for the phone call is on a Friday morning. A separate link to book your 60 minute assessment will follow after your phone call. Typical availability for the 60 minute assessment is most weekdays and some Saturdays. You will be charged £85 for the initial package once only when completing the first booking. No further payment will be required when booking the 60 minute assessment.

What else do I need to know?

  • Our behaviour consultations are designed to create real, lasting change—not quick fixes. After an in-depth initial assessment where we get to know you and your dog, we begin a structured programme of follow-on sessions. Together, we build essential skills, strengthen focus, and develop positive alternative behaviours in a calm, controlled way before applying them to real-life situations. This step-by-step approach ensures your dog truly understands what’s being asked, setting both of you up for long-term success. Because behaviour change takes consistency, we suggest clients commit to a block of sessions (a minimum of three, though most dogs benefit from more) so we can guide you every step of the way and achieve the best possible results.

  • You will first book in for your phone call followed by in depth in person assessment. This initial package costs £85 and includes a phone call, access to helpful videos, one 60 minute diagnostic session followed by a training plan that you can get started on straight away.

  • Subsequent sessions are where things truly start to change—not just for your dog, but for you as well. This is where frustration begins to turn into clarity, and where you start to see the kind of calm, reliable behaviour you’ve been hoping for.

  • Each session is a focused, hands-on hour with Rick, our Head Behaviourist, guiding you step by step through exactly what your dog needs. You won’t be left guessing or overwhelmed—instead, you’ll gain clear direction, practical skills, and the confidence to handle situations that may have previously felt difficult or stressful.

  • Between sessions, you’re fully supported with personalised guidance and carefully selected video resources, so you always know what to work on and how to do it. This consistency is what creates real, lasting change—helping your dog make better choices, and allowing you to finally relax and enjoy life together again.

      Sessions are charged as follows:

       x 3 sessions £269

       x 4 sessions £355

       x 6 sessions £519

  • Step 1: book your call to the behaviour team normally on a Friday morning.

  • Step 2: After your call you will be sent a separate link to book your 60 minute diagnostic assessment. Typical availability for the 60 minute diagnostic session is most weekdays and some Saturdays.

  • You will be charged £85 for the initial call and diagnostic assessment, only when completing the first booking. No further payment will be required when booking the 60 minute diagnostic session.

  • Step 3: After your diagnostic session the behaviour team will advise you on the number of sessions you may need. You can then book in your behaviour sessions on the link you get sent. Sessions must be booked as a minimum of 3 sessions but most behaviour problems will require more for you to make lasting progress

  • Designed for dogs who require more specialist behavioural modification work

  • Most pet insurance companies work with All Positive Dog Services, so the cost may be covered by your insurance company

  • Please bear in mind that most problems require ongoing support and training, as it takes time to change behaviour patterns. With behavioural issues there is no quick fix. In addition, we may recommend other training packages to support the behaviour modification process, these would include training for you, where we can get our team to start the training for you, and with our support you can then take over

  • This service will require us to work with your vets and any other professionals who have a relationship with your dog. This allows us to provide a holistic approach, ensuring we address your dog's health, behaviour and environment as a whole

  • Travel costs for behavioural consultations taking place at your home are charged at 45p per mile, both ways, from the APDS Training & Behaviour Centre, as according to Google maps

  • Check out our T&Cs here for our cancellation policy

  • If you can't find a date to suit you, please get in touch with us so we can find a way to help you
