Beginners Scent Work

Did you know that dogs have an incredible sense of smell that allows them to detect a single drop of blood in 20 Olympic-size swimming pools? Wow, right?!

​

Scent detection training in dogs has long been used widely to detect drugs, explosives, cash, missing persons, human diseases and imminent epileptic fits and seizures to name just a few!

 

This course will help you activate your dog's nose and train them to search and indicate a specific scent

​

What's included in the Beginners Scent Work Course?

  1. Eight Beginners Scent Work classes, held at our dedicated Training & Behaviour Centre
    ​

  2. Learn how to teach your dog scent identification, indication, handling & searching skills 
     

  3. Go from complete novice to indicating on a specific scent!

     

  4. Teach your dog how to detect scent in various situations and during distractions, such as searching different areas / items, searching outside, searching at various heights and blind searching
     

  5. After successfully completing the course, if you wish, you can join Scent Club, where you will receive a clicker and you own scent kit to enable you to compete in Nosework Games

     

What else do I need to know?

  • Cost is £149.99 for X8 sessions, spread over 8 weeks, lasting 60 minutes each
     

  • Suitable for dogs of any age and breed that are happy working in a group environment 
     

  • Taught by Qualified Scent Work UK Instructor
     

  • You and your dog do not need any previous scent work experience, but please contact us if you have completed other scent work courses 
     

  • Once you have completed this course, you can continue honing and improving your dog's ability to identify, search and indicate the odour through joining Scent Club or even enter into Nosework Games to put your dog's nose to the test!
